Steaming Vent-Sunset lights the steam rising from a vent at Hverir. The rocks have been piled there to keep unwitting visitors from falling into it.
Dettifoss-A May snow storm swirls around the famous Icelandic photographer, Skarphéðinn Þráinsson, as he stands at the edge of a cliff overlooking Dettifoss, the most powerful waterfall in Europe.
Hvítserkur-Once the plug of a volcano, over the years the crater surrounding the rock plug gave way to the pounding Atlantic Ocean, leaving only this unusual rock outcropping. The legend goes that Hvítserkur is a petrified troll. The troll lived in Strandir and wanted to tear down the bells at Þingeyrarklaustur convent, but fortunately it got caught by daylight and as we all know, trolls turn into stone by the sun.
